I was wondering if someone could help me find out about my great grandgather's brother.  His name was Robert McPhee and he was a world war 1 veteran from Springhill.   He was married to a woman named Parth Barry or Berry I believe and his brother was Albert McPhee ( My great grandfather).  Any information would be deeply appreciated, as I'm trying to solve a bit of a mystery.  Thanks for your time.

Hi, my great grandfather was the Robert Burns MacPhee that you are asking about.

Thanks again Carl.  The mystery deepens here but I feel like Robert MacPhee wants me to know something, I'm just not sure what that is.  Hmmm..gotta ponder this awhile I suppose.

Carl, WOW!!! YES!  His wife would have that name, although I only ever heard it as Parth.  I would so truly appreciate it if you would email his military paperwork.  Gee, this is very interesting.  My mum, who was also from Springhill, told me of Uncle Bob and that he was a WW1 veteran.   Apparently he has quite the headstone in one of the cemetaries in Springhill.  My mum is now passed and any information went with her.  Thanks so much Carl, ya made me day!!!

Hello! Val .....

According to Robert MacPhee's (not McPhee) WW1 attestation papers he was born in Springhill on 08 Aug 1890. At his date of enrolment in Halifax, 27 Jan 1916, Robert was a resident of River Hebert, NS, with his wife Parthisna(?).

I have not done any further research. If you would like to have copies of his attestation papers via email attachment please contact <carl.demings@ns.sympatico.ca>.

Good hunting!
