Part of me hopes that somewhere is a lost manuscript for that "book"...which I imagine would be pure gold.

Yes, the Spanish Civil War would have been an ideal venue for someone of Bandy's talents. I gather that D.J. would have liked to write a book set in Spain, but that it just didn't come to pass for whatever reason.

It's unfortunate that a bunch of (mostly all actually) Bandy's romantic interests get "offed" somehow in the books...I have a feeling that Sigga was going to be involved in a possible book regarding the Spanish Civil War (doesn't anyone else think that there was a book in the makings somewhere in there????) where at least her death would have been explained in a little further detail than what we were left with.

Hi Beastbourne Bandy,

Basically, Cissie's family kept them apart, since her father was rich and had the influence to get court injunctions and things to keep Bandy away from Cissie. They did have a son, though, who you can find out all about in volume 8, Hitler Versus Me!

I'm a new Bandy fan and only up to "Me Too" (Vol V) but wondering where Cissie got to - and especially to produce a son as indicated by later Vol blurb.  Other clue is that in another blurb "she went off to a Flying Circus".  I'm missing her - she was a calming influence on our hero!
