Hi Carl,

I delivered a "cd" of my research to the secretary of the
springhill historical society, dont know her name, lives on st. james street.

Thanks for your kind offer to share your information on the Isle of Skye "BEATON" family.

Our Springhill Heritage Group does have a family of Beaton's as members. I would appreciate having a copy of your information. It could be of interest to several Beaton's still living in the area.

BTW ... If you keep your data on a family history program which can export a gedcom file, that would be great. But if not I would still like to have it in whatever form you would supply.

Thank you for helping to preserve our heritage.

I am always looking for new information on different families.;I've done this ever since I was thirteen years old.
I do not post anything I receive on the internet.

In 1830, a group of settlers came from Isle of Skye to Skye Glen in Inverness Co., then for a period of time , circa ,1870-1885 they lived in the Trenton/Thorburn area, then to Springhill.

Two brothers,  Malcolm and John Beaton , and their children came to Springhill around 1885/86.
John was my great grandfather,his son Angus my grandfather , and his son Herb Beaton my father.

My brother Michael and I grew up in our parents house on what is now Black St. (?) near the Catholic church.

A cousin and I have been researching this family for a period of time and have gathered a substantial amount of info on the decendants of the  brothers Malcolm and John.

It would be our pleasure to share this info with interested parties.
