Hello! Duncan .....

Thanks for your kind offer to share your information on the Isle of Skye "BEATON" family.

Our Springhill Heritage Group does have a family of Beaton's as members. I would appreciate having a copy of your information. It could be of interest to several Beaton's still living in the area.

BTW ... If you keep your data on a family history program which can export a gedcom file, that would be great. But if not I would still like to have it in whatever form you would supply.

Thank you for helping to preserve our heritage.

I am always looking for new information on different families.;I've done this ever since I was thirteen years old.
I do not post anything I receive on the internet.

In 1830, a group of settlers came from Isle of Skye to Skye Glen in Inverness Co., then for a period of time , circa ,1870-1885 they lived in the Trenton/Thorburn area, then to Springhill.

Two brothers,  Malcolm and John Beaton , and their children came to Springhill around 1885/86.
John was my great grandfather, his son Angus my grandfather , and his son Herb Beaton my father.

My brother Michael and I grew up in our parents house on what is now Black St. (?) near the Catholic church.

A cousin and I have been researching this family for a period of time and have gathered a substantial amount of info on the decendants of the  brothers Malcolm and John.

It would be our pleasure to share this info with interested parties.
