Help Please

I am trying to find my great great grandfather.  His name is James Andrew Miller born in Nova Scotia in 1851.  I have no information on him such as parents or siblings.  Any information would help.

Thanks.

Wanda:
There is a James Miller in Middle Stewiacke, Colchester Co. b: abt. 1852. Have his marriage. Several Miller families in "History of Stewiacke 1780-1900". Also a James Miller b: Abt: 1850; is living in Parrsboro in 1881 with wife Caroline and 2 yr. old daughter Oreta. What is your grandfather's first name. Might be easier to trace back from there.

Regards,

I'm looking for information on some of my family, most specifically my great grandmother, Margaret Dunphy nee Skidmore and her brothers Isaac and Alexander Banford Skidmore.  I'm looking for any information there is about the two brother's specifically.  I'm also looking for information about my great aunt Winnie Dunphy and her brother Harry Dunphy.  My mother was Molly Dunphy and was born in Springhill Sept 21 1923.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Smiley Thank you Ian!  I was not aware of the ages and the information of Isaac is new to me also.  I became interested in this for a strange reason that can only be described as peculiar and beyond coincidence.  My mum Molly Dunphy told me family stories about the Dunphys and Skidmores from the time I was very small and she used to talk of her grandmother (Margaret Skidmore) and her siblings. In particular she mentioned Alexander Banford and apparently he left and never came home and the rest was a mystery, no one knew about him.  Well, now here is the odd thing, not knowing where my ancestor ever got to, I, believe it or not ended up moving to the exact same town 2700 miles away in the us that he did.  I found this out quite by accident while checking out geneology pages on the net one day a year ago.  I've since moved home but while I was still there, I looked in cemetary records to find his burial place and his descendants and it's as if he just floated off the planet.  Not a trace he ever lived there and yet the geneology site said he lived and died in that town in the us.  How amazing that four generations and over  100 years later, his descendant moves to the same town!  I feel this is a  mystery I'm to solve but I'm at a dead end here.  Right now I'm in NFLD and perhaps a trip back to the mainland is in order.  If you have any other information regarding this man let me know Ian.  Also, the reason I mentioned Isaac, is because he moved to the same town with Alexander Banford and died there as well and there is no trace of him there either.  Thanks again.  Smiley

Thank you soooo much Ian, no I did not have that information.  wow On the 1901 census for the Dunphys they left off Harry and I'm wondering why.  He was older than Winnie by a bit.  Interesting.  I'll have to delve into this a bit further.  Thank you Ian you are a wonderful fountain of info on my family, bless you.
