I would appreciate any information on my grandfather.Frank E Burke. I believe he was born in Springhill 1881 or 1882.His mother was a McCarron.she possibly died in childbirth. It is possible he was a twin or his father was a twin.It is also possible for a time he may have resided in the local Catholic Church. He moved to New Waterford & married Agnes Burke from Mira.He was a miner & also a town councillor in New Waterfd. We also remember hearing of a connection with a family (St Clair) that moved to New Hampshire from Springhill. We have also heard that possibly his name was changed from Bourque but have no proof of this.Frank died in New Waterfd in 1935 at the age of 53.He had 2 sons James(my father) & John also a daughter Margaret. We have always wondered about our connection with Springhill .Thank you for any infomation you may have. Hello,
I  have data on the Burke family,Jean Bourke m/Margaret McCarron in 1878.now in 1881 River Hebert census # 63,John Burke ae 30 years & h/w Margaret ae33 years.with a son Edward ae 2 years.
there must of been other children,as you know the name of Jean in French stands for John. They were in Springhill # 281 -1891 census.John ae 38 years, with Frank no ae.mentioned the surname was Burke. The marriage for Jean Bourke was in the Cumberland Marriage records 1864-1914,but didn't tell who their parents were.
