I don't think we even have a "Southhampton" in Nova Scotia.

Hello! Angela .....
I have never heard of an "Ellis" road, however there is now unused road called the "Etter" road in this vicinity.
Could this possibly be the road you are looking for?

Hello! Angela .....
I just had an email from a contributor to this forum, Catherine, saying word from a relative of hers who lives in that area is:,

"never heard tell of an Ellis Road, he also said that there were no Ellis families in Southampton, & that the Ellis who came from Rawdon & Douglas went to Eatonville & Advocate.
He did say that their was an Etter Road, & that Samuel Etter had a homestead on this road, as well as a Reid family."

Sounds like pretty good confirmation of the Etter Road.

BTW ... could you let us know what article, book, etc., you were reading? Might be interesting for other forum visitors to hear about. Thanks!
