I am trying to find any info about my grandfather and gandmother Rufus and Edith Johnson who lived at 98 Herritt Road. He fought in W W 1 and was injured at Vimy Ridge. Later, until he retired after the 1958 disaster, he worked in the mines. Looking for any info I can or at least any tips available to find information.

Hello! Mike .....
While visiting at the All Saints Springhill Hospital on Monday I met your mother Hilda who was being wheeled, along with several other patients, along the first floor. Possibly to physio.
I spoke to her briefly because we both lived on the Herrett Road at one time.
I seem to remember she and your dad operated the Pugwash telephone exchange.
Regards!

...yes Carl..you are correct. Mom was the agent for Maritime Tel and Tel for a number of years. She is now in Victoria Manor in Amherst. My Dad was employed by the Salt Company from 1958 til his retirement in 1985.
I have many fond memories of the house my grandparents lived i (98 Herrett Road). Spent lots of time there as a youngster.

Hello
I am not sure if you would be interested in this information or not:

www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/cef/index-e.html

Soldiers of the First World War

You can access James Johnson's Attestation papers through this site and actually order copies of them. You can find out a lot about where he served in WW1 from these papers.

He is listed as
James Johnson
DOB 13 August 1892
Regimental Number 223193
Reference: RG 150 Accession 1992-93/66 Box 4878-14
