Looking for Canadian relations - Hannah Family

Hi,

My Grandad's family emigrated to Springhill Mines from Monkton in Scotland in or around 1929. The family name was Hannah. The party consisted of thirteen people including My grandfathers parents, several brothers and at least one sister.

My Grandad was called Matt.
My gran's maiden name was Skinner.
Two of Grandad's brothers were we think called Robert and Albert, but....
Grandad's sister that I know of was called Rose and Rose had a daughter called Liz. We think Rose may have been a teacher.

We are pretty sure they had a farm.

My Grandad died in 1952, and I believe that Rose and Liz went over to Scotland for the funeral.

I'm really keen to get in touch with the Canadian side of the Hannah family, so if anyone can help it would be really good.

Thanks
Joe Hannah

My great grandparents and members of their family, 13 in total, came to Springhill in 1904/1905 from Ayrshire, Scotland. Abraham and Margaret nee Doherty were born in Ireland but at some point were in Culmnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. All of their children were born in Scotland between 1881 and 1903 and most came to Canada with them. Helen (Nell) the oldest daughter was married to William McSephney and had a daughter Margaret in Scotland. They came to Canada with her parents, Abraham and Margaret, as well as her brothers Abraham, John, Joseph, James, William, and sisters Margaret (Meg), Elizabeth (Peg), Mary and Catherine. As far as I have been able to determine another brother by the name of Matthew, born about 1883 remained in Scotland. I have not been able to find any information about him as yet. If you think this could be the same family please contact me at the e-mail address below or through this site. I have been working on the family history for all sides of my family.
