I am looking for information and pictures of the Arents family.

They can to Springhill around 1910.  John B Arents had a store in Springhill.

John B Arents was married to Lea Tilmant, had two sons Victor and John.

I am wondering if somebody has a copy of the Springhill Goodly book, there is a reference to Vic Arents or a picture.  I am wondering what it is.

Springhill, Our Goodly Heritage, page 95

Springhill Bus, 1946

The Springhill Bus Company has this bus in operation in the 1940's. It provided transportation for the many Springhiller's who did not have cars of their own. There was a set route through the town and the bus schedule provided dependable service. It cost 10 cents a ride. People used to go for the full ride just for an outing. Miners would catch it from Monument Hill to the mines. Some would take their rake and hoe and go down to work in the cemetery, catching a later run back home. Young people would all go for a ride on Friday night before or after the movies at the Capitol Theatre. Harvey Fnley and Vic Arents were the obliging drivers. Remember?

There is a picture of the bus above the article.

Did a quick search for Arents on 1911 Census of Canada
found a Charley Arento but original docs looks like Arents
http://automatedgeneaolgy.com
1911/Nova Scotia/Inverness/30 Port Hood
Several names but head of family is Charley Arents, Belgium, immigrated 1886

www.novascotiagenealogy.com
m. for John Baptis Arent
m. for Alice Arents, 1912
b. for Sadie Isabel Arents, 1897
This is a delayed registration so gives other info as well
d. Victos Tilmant, 1945 Springhill

If you are interested in looking at original documents these are great sites, sometimes need lots of patience. On automated genealogy you can chose split screen at the top of the page and that will bring up the original census documents.
